The Width of Sunbeam (《陽光棧道有多寬》) is the latest poetry collection of Hong Kong poet Lau Wai Shing (劉偉成), showing the poet's concern for the city, humanity and life.

Over the past seven years, Lau has gone through Hong Kong's ups and downs with his unique poetic sensibility. On one hand metaphors and images have been created to depict the city's past and future, on the other hand, Lau delicates his own feelings for places and people.

The book is divided into seven sections. And the book title is named with seven Chinese characters. The special number ‘seven’ became spontaneously the idea for the cover concept. As a representation of the notion of Sunbeam, a printed-line is wrapping all around the edge of the book. Seven linking short lines are printed on the white cover. When the grey slipcase is opened, one may see linking lines showing ups and downs in a dynamic movement.
